About BaaS
Electric Vehicles (EVs) cost less operationally than conventional vehicles ; however, the acquisition / cost of purchase of electric vehicles is higher. The higher acquisition cost is partially attributable to the cost of batteries used in these vehicles. Batteries typically constitute 30% - 40% of the overall vehicle cost. Concerns around high battery cost , longer charging times impeding mobility are the major challenges faced by the EV market. Amid the challenges mentioned above, the emergence and subsequent adoption of the Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model will help the EV market in terms of sustainability. Battery-as-a-Service model allows customers to lease batteries as a separate component from EVs. Leasing the battery saves the upfront purchase cost of an electric vehicle. This new service provides battery swapping options that offer a solution to address shorter range issues of an EV. Also, battery swapping is less time-consuming and requires minimum infrastructure compared to a charging station making this model almost a viable option driving future adoption. Our mission is to drive BaaS and make availability of batteries ubiquitously through technology.
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy and Roadmap
Contribute to the overall Yulu Product strategy and define steps required to bring the product to fruition.
Be the primary driver of Yulu Energy products, oversee all aspects of product strategy, development and management.
Work closely with the founders, the engineering team, marketing and other stakeholders to arrive at a clear product roadmap in line with the vision of the organization.
Manage every aspect of product’s development from ideation to completion.
Innovation
Take ownership of product innovation and improvement. Ensure that the product is constantly growing to meet the needs of customers and other stakeholders.
Generate new product ideas, enhancements to existing products by collating requests from both internal stakeholders and customers.
Product Evaluation and Analysis
Highlight risks, bring up impacts and assist in analyzing possible solutions for complex issues.
Identify issues in the product roadmap, assist the team in resolving possible issues to ensure the goals of the product are clearly met.
Collaboration
Manage a team of product Managers and work closely with the founders & engineering team & various stakeholders to deliver Products of value for Yulu Energy
Conduct Product demos. Be a Product advocate; describe the Product, its value, its working and adoption. Explain upcoming changes and tailor the information to the audience
Work in a matrix environment to deliver a product that aligns with the needs of all stakeholders
Key Requirements
BTech / MBA and equivalent practical knowledge
6+ years of Product Management experience.
Experience in the logistics or mobility industry is an advantage
Experience building and managing teams
Excellent problem-solving capabilities, effective communication and interpersonal skills
Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, rapidly-evolving workplace
In-depth understanding of the Agile principles and methodologies and how they’re applied in the workplace
